I wish Netflix had a “Skip All Intros” button. Just once — no more intros ever again.
Every time I binge a show, I keep tapping “Skip Intro.” Again and again.
So I Googled it — and turns out, lots of folks on Reddit feel the same. Some even install browser tools to skip intros automatically.
But then I stopped and thought: Netflix is smart. If they haven’t added this yet, maybe there’s a reason.
Could be a few things:
• The intro sets the vibe. Skipping it every time might break the flow.
• Creators might want people to watch it — it’s part of their vision.
• Maybe Netflix uses that “Skip” click to track if you’re still watching.
• And yep — sometimes licensing or contracts require that the intro is shown.
So yeah, maybe it’s not as simple as flipping a switch.
📌 Sometimes, not building a feature is a feature.
As someone who thinks about user experience a lot, this made me pause:
👉 Even if users ask for something, we should ask: What’s the tradeoff?
And if we say no — can we explain why?
Tiny UX moments like this teach big lessons.
